Job Description:

DEFSEC is seeking a Finance student to join our team.

This is an on-site position.

Job Responsibilities:

Working closely with our Finance team, the student will:

• Assist with data entry.
• Process expense reports.
• Process credit card transactions.
• Develop worksheet templates for analysis.
• Update process documentation and manuals.
• Assist with account reconciliations.
• Assist with inventory reconciliation.
• Assist with the maintenance of the chart of accounts.
• Support financial operations and processes.
• Participate in special projects, including financial analysis and quality checks.
• Support budget preparation, forecasting, and financial planning.
• Assist with gathering documentation for internal audits and ensure compliance with financial policies.
• Undertake other duties as required.

Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program with a specialization in Accounting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. 2/2
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other financial software/tools (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, etc.).
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• A strong desire to learn and develop professional skills in the finance industry. Preferred Skills:
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles.
• Experience with bookkeeping.

Rate:

$25 per hour plus vacation pay.
